Leland Hardwick and Gentry Bond of Durant High School are the December 2025 Shamrock Bank Honorees.
Hardwick is the pick as the “Performing Arts Student “of the Month.
Leland took up the trumpet in sixth grade and is an active member of the “Pride of Durant” marching band, symphonic band and Jazz I.

The talented musician advanced into the final round of OkMEA All-State auditions placing him in the top 50 high school trumpet players in the state. He was the only DHS musician to qualify for the honor.
His excellence playing trumpet also landed him the prestigious honor of performing “Taps” at the annual Veterans Day parade in Durant.
“As a senior in the “Pride of Durant”, Leland exemplifies leadership, dedication, and integrity,” McKean Akin, Assistant High School Band and Jazz Director, said.
“Leland is always trying to improve himself and those around him by setting the example of what a great role-model should be as a musician and as a leader. “The Pride of Durant “is glad to have a student like Leland and we are very proud that he has been selected as the recipient for this honor.”

In addition to his musical talents, Hardwick is a goalkeeper on the DHS soccer team and is active in school and in the community.
As a member of the Key Club, Leland has volunteered for several events including the “Glow Run”, “Family Nights “and “The Annual Kiwanis Club Pancake Day.”
Hardwick attends the St. William Catholic Church in Durant where he participated in the “Serve Durant Project” and took part in a two-day missionary leadership class demonstrating a strong commitment to service and leadership.
His future plans include pursuing a business degree at the University of Oklahoma.
Leland’s parents are Juan Trejo and Hillary Hardwick and he has two siblings, Miguel Trejo and Aundrea Trejo.
Shamrock Bank is also pleased to honor cheerleader Gentry Bond .
“Gentry is a senior who has been on the cheer squad for four years and loves to show support for her school,” Lou Ann Lively, DHS Cheer sponsor, said.

In addition to her cheerleading, Gentry is very active in school activities including Student Council, HOSA and the FCA. She is also an advocate of the “Pink Out Breast Cancer Awareness Project ” having raised more than $25,000 for the cause.
Her volunteer spirit doesn’t end there.
Gentry is active in the First Baptist Church of Durant where she is a member of the Student Leadership Team and serves as a Community Liaison Officer. she has also volunteered for the annual “Toys for Tots” campaign and earns extra money by serving as a nanny.

In her spare time, she likes to stay fit by routine cardio and weight training and when not going to school or working you can probably find her in a gym.
An excellent student, Gentry has compiled a 3.64 grade point average and is also taking courses at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. In addition, she is a member of the National Honor Society, Principal’s Honor Roll and following graduation is planning to attend Oklahoma State University where she will major in Psychology.
Tascha Bond is Gentry’s mother. She has a sister, Hailey Bond.
