Avery Sager and Reeselyn McNeill of Durant High School have been selected as the Shamrock Bank Impact Athlete and Performing Arts Students of the month for September 2025.

Avery, is a record-setting member of the Lady Lions cross country and track squad.
The junior serves as the team captain in both cross country and track and received the “Champion of Character” honor. As a sophomore, she was a state qualifier in both cross country and track and earned a spot on the “Meet of Champions” team.
Sager has been most impressive during this year’s cross county season turning in first place finishes at meets in Wright City, Madill, Moore and Carl Albert.
In addition, Avery has broke her own school record two times this year at the Moore R4RYK Invitational and the Carl Albert Oklahoma 5A Invitational Championship meet.

“She’s not just a phenomenal athlete. She’s an even better person,” DHS Asst. Principal and Head Girls Cross Country and Assistant Track Coach Amanda Reynolds said.
“She’s a great mentor to the young athletes in teaching them about our program and getting them involved. “
An exceptional student with a 4.0 grade point average, Sager was named the “Outstanding Ninth Grade Female Student” and is a member of the Oklahoma Honor Society .
In addition, she is a whiz in mathematics placing first in plane geometry at the SOSU Curriculum contest her freshman year and second in Algebra II at that competition as a sophomore.
Involved in the community, Sager coaches gymnastics at “Unstoppable Gymnastics in Durant and is active at the Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Durant.
Avery plans to further her education beyond high school with a major in mathematics and hopes to to continue her cross country and track, as well. She is undecided about her college destination
Avery’s parents are Lisa and Cliff Sager. She has one brother, Aiden, who was also a former “Impact Athlete ” who is running track at East Central University in Ada.

Reeselyn McNeill is a member of the DHS mixed and show choir who has appeared in several DHS musical theatre productions.
The senior has been selected to All-State choir in middle school and high school along with being picked for the SE All-District Honor Choir all five school years .
In addition, Reeselynn was named to the SWACDA National Honor Choir in 2022 and she performed solos at OSSAA contests.
Her DHS musical theatre credits include being the featured soloist in “Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella the Musical”, as Duffy the orphan in “Annie”, the mayor’s wife in “Seussical the Musical” and in the lead female role of Mitchie in “Camp Rock: the Musical”

Reeselyn is very involved and committed to her local church and serves on the student leadership team at First Baptist Church. She also sings and leads worship with the FBC student worship band and during Sunday worship services along with participating on numerous mission trips with the church.
A member of the high school student council, McNeill has recorded a 3.7 grade point average and plans to continue her education at Oklahoma Baptist University . There she plans to major in Theology and Ministry with a Practical Theology Emphasis and Minor in Student and Family Ministry.
Reeselyn’s parents are Garry and Heather McNeill. Her siblings are older sister Haley, younger sister Brynlee and younger brother Garrison.
