Congratulations to Bradi McLemore and Ivey Johnston of Durant High School who have been selected as the December 2020 Shamrock Bank Impact Athlete and Performing Arts Students of the month.
McLemore, a senior, is a versatile athlete who plays basketball, golf and participates in track.
On the court, Bradi was second on the team in scoring during the 2019-2o2o season and currently tops the points chart for the Lady Lions this year.
A member of both the Oklahoma and National Honor Society, she has compiled a 3.9 grade point average and serves as the president of HOSA a group for future Health professionals. McLemore also is involved in the First Baptist Church (FBC) youth program.
After graduation, Bradi plans on continuing her education at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee where she will pursue a nursing degree.
Her parents are Kyle and Toni McLemore. She has a sister Addie, and a brother, Luke.
Senior Ivey Johnston sings in the Durant choir and participates in Musical Theater.
Her singing honors are numerous. She is two-time all district choir member and NATS Semi-Finalist earning superior ratings three times for district-level solos and ensembles. Ivey was also chosen as a 2020 Questbridge National College Match Finalist..
In addition, Johnston . a 3.89 student, is a member of the DHS Key Club, Student Council and the BPS (Business Professionals of America).
In the community, she coaches at Unstoppable Gymnastics in Durant and has participated in musical theater throughout North Texas.
Ivey is currently undecided on her college destination. However, she is planning on majoring in Health and Human Services with a minor in Dancing or Creative Writing.
Ivey is the daughter of Lisa Allen and the granddaughter of Robert and Paula Allen. She has one sister, Ashley Keeble.
This award is given monthly during the school year to Durant High School students who show a dedication to their extracurricular activities while also excelling academically.
