Tucker Tonubbee and Maison Ferrell Honored by Shamrock Bank

Tucker Tonubbee and Maison Ferrell of Durant High School have been selected as the Shamrock Bank Impact Athlete and Performing Arts Students of the month for April 2025.

A junior, Tucker  is a  key member of the Lions golf team.

Last spring, Tonubbee qualified for the  Class 5A state tournament and is looking for a return trip.

In 2025, he has turned in a solid season, earning first team All-Conference honors while averaging a team-leading 81 stroke per round average. In addition, he plays golf in Thunderbird Golf Junior Tour which is a series of tournaments that aims to promote junior golf  in Texoma

“Tucker is an outstanding young man, excelling in both the classroom and on the golf course,  ” DHS golf coach Tanner Dupree said. “It has been awesome watching Tuck grow into our leader.”

A member of FFA, he was named that organizations “Freshman of the year ” and has placed in multiple FFA speech competitions. Tucker was also honored as the state champion of FFA Open & Closing Ceremonies.

Tonubbee,  a 4.0 grade point  average student, has  qualified for Oklahoma Indian Student Honor Society, Oklahoma High School Honor Society and Academic All-Conference in golf.

He is also a member of a youth group at the First Baptist Church in Durant and works at the Chickasaw Point Golf Course in Kingston

Tucker’s future plans including attending the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond to pursue a degree in Professional Golf Management.

His parents are Ricky and Amanda Tonubbee. He has one brother, Toby.

Maison Ferrell is member of the  “Pride of Durant” marching band and the DHS jazz and symphonic band.

The senior is a six-year member of the band program who plays the flute and saxophone.

She has been named an outstanding musician and done well in various contests getting  five superior ratings for solo and ensemble at district and one superior at state competitions in the solo ensemble category.

“She goes above and beyond and has a big heart”, Durant Public Schools Director of Bands, ” Chris Gregg said. “When she sees a need she gets to work.  I will truly miss her next year.”

In addition, Maison has attended the Texoma Marching Arts and Leadership Academy  (TMALA) camp. It’s a week-long camp for marching band leadership, percussion, color guard and drum major students.

A 3.7 student, she is a member of the National Honor Society and holds down a part-time job at McDonalds.

Ferrell plans on continuing her education by joining the Nursing program at Murray State College in Tishomingo with an eye to becoming a veterinary nurse.

Maisons’ parents are Rhonda and Billy Baldwin and David and Amanda Ferrell.  Her brothers and sisters are Tristen Baldwin, Adysin Geckler, Dani Geckler, Aiden Ferrell and Emily Ferrell .
